BAA Lounge in CDG

I am a AA Platinum member and will be flying BAA from CDG->LHR. I was wondering, will this give me access to their lounge?

christep Nov 6, 2008 6:47 am

BAA? I don't think they have any planes, or any lounges in Paris.

BA? Yes, you should get access to the lounge under OneWorld rules.

no, you won't have access to lounge. BA lounge in CDG is third-party and status won't get you in. if you are flying J, then yes.

Sorry, I'm a flying newbie and haven't gotten all the acronyms down yet. When I say BAA, I mean British Airways. Thanks for the info. When I flew out of LHR, the rep told me we could goto the lounge and that was great news to me Made up for the $50 taxi ride we had to take because the tube wasn't open yet. :D

Sorry for being a newbie, but what is "J" Is that the fare status level, like full fare?

The lounge used by BA in CDG 2B is currently an AF lounge.

BAA is the British Airports Authority. British Airways is BA (what did you think the second A stood for?)

"J" means "business class"

And an AA Platinum? How does that happen then?

I'm not a flying newbie as I make cross country trips at least once a month, so I got Platinum without the challenge. I'm just not a world traveler like some.

OK, to summarise, even though you are oneworld Sapphire (as an AAdvantage Platinum), unless you are flying in J class (Business - AKA "Club Europe") on BA (British Airways) you are unlikely to have access to the lounge that BA uses at CDG.

FYI,
British Airways' 3 letter code is BAW, however, it is seldom used in this forum.
