Oneworld Circle the Pacific from Jakarta?

THanks. Can we fly the Circle the Pacific from Jakarta? Because at the oneworld webpage it states or do we buy from Jakarta then start the journey from Malaysia for e.g.

Asia (Cambodia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam)

You can buy in Indonesia for Itineries starting in Malaysia; however you will pay the higher of the xCIRnn country rates.

e.g. DCIR26 ex KUL is MYR23,824.00 +++ (~USD6,875), ex CGK is USD4,656

The web page you're referring to clearly hasn't been updated for a while. (It doesn't mention Japan, for example.)

If you look at the full current Circle Pacific technical rules, you will see that Indonesia is definitely included as a start/finish location (as is Japan). This means that you can buy your ticket in Jakarta, at the beneficial prices, with your itinerary beginning and ending there. As you've probably read, buying from AA will probably give you the lowest fuel surcharges, and the AA Round-the-World desk can book your flights. In theory, you then contact the AA GSA (sales agent) in Jakarta, from whom you purchase the ticket. If you're already in Indonesia, this should be straightforward. If you're elsewhere, it's probably worth contacting the AA GSA in advance to find out about paying for the ticket, as GSAs vary a lot. Some will accept faxed credit card/passports, some will take wire transfers, some need you there in person. This has an impact on making the reservations, as it's possible to request the AA RTW desk to hold the reservations until ticketing can be done.

AA RTW Desk:

To make reservations using a oneworld global product shown below (except businessflyer), please call our Around The World desk toll-free at 1-800-247-3247. The desk is available Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. (CT), Saturday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (CT). Outside the U.S. and Canada, call +1 817-267-1151 and ask for the Around The World Desk.
Clearly, some people use ticket offices of other OW carriers, or TAs, even at a premium price. This has to be up to you, based on your experience with a given office.

Trust this helps.

Let me also wish you a belated welcome to FT.

But there doesn't seem to be an AA office in Indonesia? Only the reservations hotline which I'd assume diverts to the BNE call centre.

Nothing about an Indonesian office here anyway:

Unless it's some super secretive back office even ATW desk agents don't know about like AA SYD.
