Easter Island (IPC) award possible with QF?
 

Hi!

I am new to OneWorld and collecting miles on QF so please bear with me. I've learned that Easter Island awards on OW are possible and read the brilliant report on FT.
The sole purpose for my OW membership is to book an award to IPC some time (hopefully next year ;)). I wonder if if QF is the right OW partner to credit my miles to. I have yet to fly/collect my miles so I'm totally open.
On the qantas website I couldn't directly book an award to IPC but the
phone hotline might help. Is it possible to book an award ticket to IPC (most likely from GRU/EZE/SCL/LIM or even the US) on QF miles?
Would there be an advantage to credit my miles to LAN directly?
Would award availability through LAN be better?

BA is worth a look - just 25,000 miles in Y from South America, and 40K for N America. Multiply by x2 for Business. When you have the miles, you should be able to book this using ba.com.

IIRC AA is significantly more expensive.

The flip to this is that earning BA miles by flying isn't always that lucrative...plenty on that in the BA Forum sticky.
