Best J MOW-SIN-HKG and back?
 

Hi All,

I’m planning a business trip from Moscow to Singapore and Hong Kong in September. I need some advice on what the best J product is across all alliances, and what the optimal routing would be.

I’d like to accomplish two things on this trip: travel in comfort and maximize status/mileage earning opportunities. I’m currently BA Gold, AA Plat, and nothing on a few other airlines (lots of miles but no status on UA, a few miles and no status on SU).

So far, most of my flying has been home to the US and on business to the UK. I’m based in MOW.

I have to be in SIN for a full day of meetings on Tuesday, 23 Sept, and in HKG for meetings on Wednesday 24 Sept. I can fly as early as the Friday 19 Sept.

What is the best J product for this sort of trip? Is it doable on OW, or will I have to go Star? If so, what FF program should I use to get maximum miles and closest to elite status?

Haven’t been to Asia since I lived in KUL more than 10 years ago. Would love to use CX’s F lounge in HKG which I’ve heard so much about.

Honetsly, you posted in OW, so you'll hear a lot of dissent from this opinion, but in J (C on Star) Class, I'd go DME-SQ-SIN-HKG, with the SQ legs on the 77W, definitely. For the way back, however, it gets much more complicated. You don't want to backtrack to SIN, ever for the good product, but CX's service is limited to a codeshare operated by SU (спасибо, нет), and I don't really know what the best option is.

Agree best business class product is SQ 77W DME-SIN-HKG vv.

For convenience: SVO -(AY/SU) HEL (AY) [or CX via AMS/FRA]- HKG (CX) - SIN (ditto)- HKG (AY) [or CX via AMS/FRA] - HEL - SVO

For maximizing mileage DME (BA) - LHR (BA/QF))- SIN (CX)- HKG (CX)- LHR (BA)- DME
