RTW in F
Greetings Everyone,
Im planning a RTW in F on one world from CGK. I was wondering what kind of mileage im looking at considering that i am going to put them on my mpc account. Trying to make diamond this year. My proposed itinerary is as follows CGK-HKG HKG-LHR LHR-DXB DXB-LHR LHR-CDG CDG-JFK JFK-MIA MIA-LAX LAX-DFW DFW-ORD ORD-JFK JFK-HKG HKG-BOM BOM-BKK BKK-HKG HKG-CGK Any suggestions as to what else I can do in terms of increasing mileage. Can you guys please post your expert suggestions. Thanks in advance Cheers |
This post is best suited at the OW forum even though OP wants to credit all the flights to his CX MPC account.
Moving this where appropriate. Guy Betsy Cathay Pacific Asiamiles forum co-mod |

For reference, I come up with 38134 miles for your stated itinerary, not including any class of service or elite status bonuses.

Some observations -
You appear to have five segments in Asia (the first one and the last four) - you're only allowed four (only two of which can be stopovers). Not sure how many of these flights have full F. Most of the AA flights in the US will be 'domestic' F and CDG-JFK is usually a 2-class 767 (no F). Check how many flights you will get 'real' F on before you spend the extra money (unless the CX MPC program makes it worthwhile). Itinerary is currently 40,590 miles. To maximize miles (if that's a goal) in the U.S., consider Anchorage (ANC) - summer season only, though. LHR-CDG is a tough one - every time I think about putting this in a trip, it always seems like a lot of effort for such a short distance. You could always go somewhere else in Europe and drop a U.S. leg - using AY or IB can move you round Europe without having to rely on LHR/BA - perhaps LHR-HEL-CDG or LHR-MAD-CDG for a few more miles. Not sure if MIA/DFW/ORD are in there because they're AA hubs or because they're places you actually want to go? |

You appear to have five segments in Asia (the first one and the last four) - you're only allowed four (only two of which can be stopovers). HKG-DEL-NRT-CGK is an alternative route, but no F for these flights. However, HKG-DEL-NRT-CGK is about 2,000 miles longer than HKG-BOM-BKK-HKG-CGK. |
To be able to do anything with this question you need to tell us the list of places you actually want to visit, and what time of year you plan to go (to know if, for example, DFW-ANC is available).
And don't fly from the east coast of N America to Europe (or vv). |
Thanks you guys for your useful info. Im working on the changes and will post as soon as i am done. I really appreciate your responses.
