Can xONEx increases be far behind?

The above quote is from the CX forum. Anyone heard anything about xONEx increases?

Common sense says prices will go up. If you want to save that $5, $10, $20, or $30 in interest that you will lose by purchasing your xONEx today instead of next month, then wait and see if you can out guess when to book before the prices go up. IMO it would not be worth the gamble. If I were doing an ATW I would purchase today or ASAP.

$70 price of oil July 1, 2007
$140 price of oil July 1, 2008
$143 price of oil this morning

Last increase in xONEx fares June 1, 2007.

Prices are going up. JMO

BA (& QF, and others) collect YQ fuel surcharges on their segments which are supposed to reflect such changes. If fare increases are blamed on oil prices, then we should all examine the YQ surcharges closely for a corresponding reduction ;)

Yes, while I agree with you, discussion of the details of these surcharges are better suited for the BA or QF forums. So without going into too much detail, on July 1 with the xCIRnn fares having gone up 60% ex-USA have the surcharges on xCIRnn fares been reduced if purchased from an airline that adds these fuel surcharges? Also, does CX charge these surcharges? If so, that could explain why ex-HKG xCIRnn fares remain closer to past amounts; although I would think you could buy ex-HKG xCIRnn from AA. Now I'm confused.

As discussed recently, the Circle fare increase is not directly related to fuel costs. Airlines still charge ever increasing amounts for fuel surcharges.

Rather, OW has decided the market for these fares can bear an increase (or perhaps revenue for other fares was suffering by a pricing anomaly) so they have put an increase through.

I expect the RTW fares to go Up.
I just purchased another RTW ticket for 330 days from now.

some folks at AA said Fares go up either on the 1st or 15. Me thinks they may go up July 15 3 days....
I hope I am wrong...

from what I read in the media (or what all the airlines said), fuel surcharges are only able to help offset part of the oil price increases...that's why despite having charged ever-increasing fuel surcharges in the past few years, CX has just issued a profit warning and announced this latest round of fare increase.

The AA RTW desk clearly thinks another price increase is coming very shortly. I've been working on my DONE4 and each agent that I've talked to suggests that I lock in asap. I asked them to go ahead and ticket my flight tonight.

Yes my ticketing deadline on a currently held AONE3 through the AA RTW desk has suddenly been pulled in to 17 July. Nothing as of this moment on the systems I can see though.

I'm flying out of NY. Was planning a Circle Pacific fare but didnt move fast enough. Now that RTW is cheaper, decided to go this route right away.

Whatever may be, may be, but I purchased my DONE5 ex CPT starting in June 2009 today. :)
