Getting into CX First on a (BA) AONEx ex MRU

I can of course just be paranoid, but it seems like CX tries to prevent people travelling on a AONEx ticket bought at another airline to get into First class. Oddly enough I am waitlisted on all my CX flights that have first class, but not on the ones with only business. Also ExpertFlyer showed A availability...

What are your experiences with being waitlisted forever or being bumped in favor of a full fare paying passengers?

(The latter happened to me on BA... Not being bumped from my flight, but from my Hold and Confirmed 2A seat and to a 1E)

Love to know your experiences with this.

What is your status level with BAEC? That can help. CX has become a bit stingy with A class on routes with the new F class.

Its probably because the F cabin is smaller now!

There are still categories within a booking class - A availability does not mean it is available to your ticket, but is perhaps a good indication that the segment may be cleared.

Does the same apply to the AA codeshares operated by CX or will the AA RTW desk book these without problems for an AONEx (assuming that there is A inventory)?

I have been able to book HKG-JFK in A in the AA codeshare (via the AA RTW desk) when it was unavailable to me on the CX code as a CX Diamond!

As always I got confirmed in the CX First the day after posting here.

There is however no AONEx availability in the QF A380. Bummer.

That is because of the new R class QF uses on F A380 services. :)

On various mid-week A380 services (e.g. Tuesday SYD-LHR & Wednesday LHR-SYD) QF are offering F class as well. The time will no doubt arrive when A class is also available, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Seen the design. Calling that a 'suite' is grossly overstating the facts. :)
