tt7, I am very disappointed. As a AA 6MM and I thought you would know the AA timetable inside out. :D
I think if AA turns a one coupon trip into a two coupon trip they would honour your ticket and still transport you anyway. At least that's what I would hope. For example, see this thread and others in the forum. |
I would contemplate flying SYD-ZQN-SYD. The area around Queenstown has world class scenery - the drive to Glenorchy for one - and avoid NZ cities which are fairly insipid. Buy a separate return from SYD-BNE - they are dirt cheap.

Our one night in Christchurch was pretty forgettable, it really did feel like any large English town! |
a friend of mine stayed in dunedin for half a year and told me that queenstown is as good as it gets.
question is: how do i fly SYD-ZQN-SYD as i am allowed only one stop in SYD? after SYD i go to HNL so i would fly SYD-ZQN-via SYD to HNL?!OW route planner says its valid even though just once a week but that would "waste" one segment going to HNL through SYD and not being allowed to stay in SYD again, right?wouldn't call it "waste" though seeying first pics on google.glenorchy looks fabulous! seperate ticket for SYD-BNE would not be necessary as i could fly SIN-BNE-SYD-ZQN...anyway,who flies SYD-BNE for dirt cheap? cheapest on qantas was 214 AUD / 130 €.does it get any better? |
There's nothing to stop you from stopping in SYD again, other than not having more than 4 segments in the SWP. As for SYD-BNE, it's QF or Virgin Blue most likely and the fares will, I suspect, be pretty much the same unless one or other happens to be having a sale at the right time.

Edit: Qantas Club memberships can be obtained at a highly discounted rate via the Australian Frequent Flyer site. Cheers |

Do you have a link? I looked at the Oz FF site and it is not obvious to me.
