Transit vs Stopover @ LHR
I want to confirm if you are just transiting in LHR (ie less than 24 hours) What tax/surcharge will I paid compare to a full stopover.
I want to see whether the AA calculation is correct on my upcoming DONE4 Thanks |
You shouldn't have to pay the UK Air Passenger Duty. The amount you would/wouldn't pay would have to do with your next destination from the UK.

Thanks
My 2 destination will be: LHR-CAI-LHR-HEL-LHR-LAX So all the LHR points will be in transit. Also I will be in D Class so that might jack up the price? I forgot is it based on Stopovers or transits and on top of that the Gordon Brown Tax as well? |
APD is based on originating departures so nothing due if your arriving flight is not from within the U.K. and is scheduled to arrive less than 24 hours before your departing flight to outside the U.K. Do bear in mind you still have to pay around GBP12 for airport user fees (payable to BAA) for each LHR departure irregardless if it's a transit or origination.

Remember your less than 24 hour stopover must be on the same ticket- you can not split tickets
