AA NRT Information and DONE4
Hi All,
Have been lurking here for a while and find the posts really useful. Originally I thought I am the only "weird" person doing Mileage runs etc... But it seems I am only an ameteur compare to some of you!:D I have a questions regarding ticketing with AA at NRT. I normally deal with JL and CX on DONE4 tickets, but as I read here AA can be potentially cheaper because they don't calculate all the tax/surcharge correctly. Questions: 1) If I only have US AA flights will they allow me to still ticket with them (I heard some AA GSA don't accpet bookings if you don't take AA long haul 2) Who do I call? I heard there is this AA RTW desk? Where are they based? DO I contact them to make the booking and then contact AA in NRT to ticket? Also how long can they hold a booking as I prob need 2-3 weeks to finalise things 3) Also what can I pay by credit card over the phone? I guess it will be E-tix now and max 16 segments 4) Is this routing OK: NRT-SYD-LHR-JFK-HKG-NRT? I am not sure whether they allow you to in face backtrack to Asia. I know there is this rule regarding SWP to Europe can transit in Asia more than Once, but if you start in Asia does this apply? 5) Given the reduced number of coupons and land segments now count to the limit, just wondering can you issue OPEN segments with just the city codes eg LON, NYC etc.. instead of JFK, LHR etc.. |
Welcome to FT! :)
1) Depending on the aagent you talk to, but mostly yes. 2) ATW Desk is based in Texas and can be reached at +18002473247. You don't need to contact them to make the booking but it's much easier to get them to book it than an aagent at the local station who may or may not have a clue on xONExs. They can hold a booking for up to 6 weeks. 3) You can most certainly pay for your xONEx by credit card over the phone. 4) Yes routing is ok (so that's what a simple routing looks like  :p), and yes the exception applies even for a start in Asia. 5) Not sure about this one but i don't think so with AA. |

Thanks
Just wondering roughly how much as a guideline should you pay for taxes these days. Any benchmark % and recent experience? I really find this area of ticketing to be a complete blackhole and lack of transparency. |
