No 'A' inventory on AA to Hawaii - should I waitlist?

I'm trying to book a 1st class RTW and go through Hawaii as I travel Westwards.

However there never seems to be availability in 'A' inventory on any flights to HNL or KOA despite there being a ton of empty seats in those cabins.

Do you think I should just waitlist a day - do their inventory systems have a habit of clearing waitlisted RTW requests within a few days if the loading in that class is low?

How soon is this?

A Class availability to/from Hawaii tend to go at a rapid rate.

Late June, not long. Ahh so maybe its been and gone on A class.

You may not be aware that a couple of carriers that flew to Hawaii went out of business. The flights are very full and expensive now. This affects A space.

Have you tried all possible routes to HNL? AA flies from ORD, DFW, SFO and LAX. DFW is sometimes better than LAX.

Otherwise I would waitlist on a few dates and routes and see what happens. Yield management might clear this quickly.

I'm in Hawaii now on A inventory. I got it from DFW but when searching via ExpertFlyer found that on most days LAX has a few seats in A (it's a 757 from LAX). Next best was SFO and there is a 767 flight on that one.

You definitely want to be on a 767 or your RTW in !st class will be a shocker on that segment

The difference will be lie flat seat vs. something else....
