LHR - SIN "C" class BA or QF

Have always flown F on this route and will fly C this trip this coming week.

I'm booked on BA at 2130 but now I find I could make the QF flight at 1215, but I'll go for the best seat, basically for sleeping and privacy.

Comments?

I'd go for the QF flight, but that's just because I don't like the New New New Club world seats on BA. Lots of folks will probably differ because they don't like the QF "wedgie" seats, but they don't bother me.

Based on seat, IFE and service I also prefer QF to BA. Arriving early morning instead of afternoon may be plus or minus for some.

BA no way

My vote goes for Qantas!

I would take the QF flight due to the departure time; I prefer the lunchtime departure to the evening

If all else was equal I would take BA since it has the fully flat bed

Thanks

Thanks for the comments so far - I'm still hoping for more.

Bed time here, but in the morning, I will make a decision, and it's looking like QF.

FYI - Looked at expertflyer and became confused. This is a code share and BA and QF show different availability and different seating.

Any suggestions on best C seat on QF?

Thanks

BA and QF each codeshare on the other's flights between LHR and Australia (except via HKG no BA codeshare). The middle of day flight is operated by QF.

I prefer upper deck exit row or failing that lower deck inner aisle seat.

Upper deck window for the side bins (obviously preferably exit row)

Agreed. The constant sliding down the inclined seat makes sleeping quite difficult, IMO. Those used to F might find this even more so.

Aren't QF29/30 (via HKG) codeshared as BA7317/8?

Afterthought: (Perhaps you meant that only QF flies via HKG.)

I find the lunctime departure ex LHR very bad for jet lag - you arrive at 7am when your body just wants to sleep.

BA's seat is better for sleeping, though QF gets the nod - just - for sitting and reading. BA is certainly much more private. Catering, wine etc better on QF for sure.

If it's sleep and privacy you want, go with BA. If you get a window seat on BA, hardly anyone will bother you.

If it is miles your collecting, don't forget that you no longer get a bonus on BA flights when crediting to AA which makes QF a more compelling option.

I can second that. Even so I personally prefer QF, BA has a flat seat and more privacy than QF. Especially in the new business class.

If you want to sleep and save on hotel cost : Upper Deck on BA.

If you want to Watch Movies and possibly pay for an extra days hotel in Singapore and get additional AA miles : Then go QF.

Food & service is significantly better on QF. I find the new BA seats to be very narrow. The only way I may consider the BA flight is if I was traveling alone since the BA seats seem a bit more private. Overall, however QF is a significantly better airline IMO.
