DCIR22 ( xCIRnn ) Rebooking
I guess the correct answer is in "The non-refundable amount may be used as credit towards payment of any full mileage or oneworld/Global explorer fare providing those conditions are met.".
i.e. A new booking will need to be created and the original inclusive fare be applied to the new booking with any difference being made up. (including the otherwise non-refundable part). Here's the relevant part of the rules for a DCIR22: 16. VOLUNTARY CHANGES/REROUTING/PENALTIES

I'd love to be able to tell you how it went today but it's still a work in progress.
AA RTW Desk were great - As usual. They quoted USD$125 rerouting fee (because I had to change something to due to a complete lack of availability) and changed all the flights to the new dates. Then I had to call AA India to pay due to it being a ticket originating in Australia.... After two calls they still have provided no information other than the fact I should call back later. Unfortunately when I called the second time they had NO record of my previous call so nothing had been done. They, again, told me to call back later to pay. So tomorrow I need to call back and try to offer to pay them - Whatever the fee may be. (This is the same call centre that insisted my DCIRC22 was $42,000 when I booked it originally and took 5 calls to sort out and pay them so I'm not holding much hope) Every dealing with AA India leaves me wanting to shoot myself rather than travel. I'll be glad when the calls are handled in Australia again. Chrisb. |
For a simple LHONE4 ex MEL for two, it took 2 calls to IndiAA. The first was at ~9:40am ADST and I was advised to call back in two hours "when the people who do that are here".
I called back around midday and aside from being put on hold for two minutes the AAgent came back and advise that all was fine other than I would need to fill out and fax a CC authorisation form - this was to be emailed to me. After that, the AA.com status of my booking changed from "Held" to "Ticketed". I received the email and filled out the attached document and faxed it to a Sydney number (Actually the AA office in Sydney). As my booking is > 16 segments I am now awaiting paper tickets. |

Friday Morning - Told it would have to go to pricing department, call back after 2pm. Friday Arvo (well after 2pm) - Call back and was told I hadn't called in the morning and as such nothing had been done. Told it would take 24hours for the pricing department to process it Saturday Arvo - Still working on the pricing - call back later. Monday - Given a pricing of ~USD$250.00 (reroute + tax times 2) and supplied a CC. I'm currently waiting for the CC to be debited and for ticket numbers to reappear in the booking. (It still says 'ticketed Feb 08' in the status but the numbers have gone) Edit: Following up... Mainly to keep myself from going nuts... Wed (19th): There has been a technical issue and your tickets will be done today. Tue (25th): Receive voicemail asking me to call AA India. I call them at 8am and get told to call back after 2pm because it's being worked on... No further information is available about why they called me. Tue (25th) 3pm: After 10mins on hold while India calls the USA they have invented a new fee - USD$125 (rerouting fee) + $4.28 HKG Tax + AUD$75 ticket reissuing fee. I have officially lost the will to fight so accept it and once again provide a CC number. I'm not sure why the rerouting and ticketing fee are separate items or why no one has mentioned them. Still, it's better than 11% off the fare. Told the tickets will be issued by tomorrow. Anyway... Lord willing this is the end of it. Chrisb. |
