Givne JNB will have the lowest price for DONE4/5 I am trying to plan whether I can consider to start my next trip there

Can you do the following:

JNB-HKG-ASIA-Aust-LHR (transit in Asia)-USA-LHR(transit)-JNB.

Just wondering will they force you to goto US straight after Aust?

Please check your proposed itinerary, because it does not go around the world in a continuous direction.

Not possible; you have to travel in one direction through Areas 1, 2 and 3, backtracking is not allowed.

Thanks. So I guess I can do the following:

JNB-HKG (x or o)-SYD-HKGx-JFK-LHR-JNB.

However this is subject to the interuptation of the Asia Stopover rule

Once upon a time you could, sometimes, as a fluke. If you get that ticketed today it will be a major coup.

I know the transit in Asia rule can be edgy when it is for US bound destinations. I did it once before but that was like 4 years ago.

Worst come to worst just have to rough it out on QF107 to JFK.

No longer edgy; they are being quite strict about the Asia transit /2nd entrance nowadays. It has to be between Europe and SWP or v.v., no other continent pairs will be allowed.
