I'm not familiar with your FFP but wouldn't you earn more points by flying HKG-LHR and then LHR-<some combination of DXB, BAH,DOH>?

gametitans Feb 24, 2008 8:58 am

I tried that but it shows as invalid in mileage monkey.

HKG-xLHR-DXB-BAH, for example, should be ok. Also HKG-xLHR-BAH-DXB, with or without a stopover in BAH.

I make this 1580 TPs.

I assume as the EWR-LAX would book into A class you would get 180 TPs for this flight??

Also if you use the BA flight BAH-DOH you will get 120 TPs.

gametitans Feb 24, 2008 10:12 am

Thanks Moomba for that useful info. Now I can easily cross the 2500 TP's for the 2 first upgrades.

Kiwi Flyer Feb 24, 2008 10:17 am

the north america bit can be improved, look for long flights that aren't on transcon list and also don't go through Canada (which books as business not first)

Darren Feb 24, 2008 11:55 am

Why not take a oneway flight to Delhi and start there? If you start in Delhi, you can ticket through AA and with the savings in fuel screwcharges, you will probably come out even. You can also use JAL's long flights.

DEL-NRT-JKT-HKG-FRA-MAD-LHR-DXB-LHR-PHX-EWR-PSP-JAX-DFW-ORD-NRT-DEL

I think it comes to 1820 tier points.

I think an OWE ex-India is liable for luxury tax, or whatever it's called.

Thanks Darren,
Im going to get in touch with a TA in Delhi and see how we can get this ticketed. I will then post the exact cost and other details.

Cheers

Wouldn't FRA-ORD be on AA, and hence no TP?

Gardyloo Feb 26, 2008 6:12 pm

Note there's only one 2-class AA flight from LAX to LAS daily, also no J/F offered on YYZ-JFK (only Y.)
