Connecting to DUB through LHR - No Lounge
I had a long connection in LHR the other day and realized that there is no T1 lounge for OW Emeralds if going to Ireland.....I flew AA in and was connecting to DUB on EI (original had me avoiding LHR, but weather forced change by AA)....went to BA Terraces only to be told that since I was continuing on EI, I could not come in.......tried EI (even though they are not in OW anymore) and told that it was too bad.....I had AA ticket and flt nbr, but on EI metal.....could not come in.......this was not good......LHR is bad enough even with access to a lounge for a 4 hour wait......but without one, it was really bad. Any suggestions about how to get into lounges on future LHR connections to IRL with OW?

Not that I know of and I've more bad news. If you're coming back the same way i.e. DUB-LHR on EI you won't have OW lounge access at DUB.

Nice way to settle an argument: with a photo. Neat, I like it.

Not entirely correct - if you're in F/J on AA transatlantic from LHR you do have access:

Well settled with the photo.....yes, I was travelling in Y, as usual. This is a good reason not to bother with LHR if travelling to DUB. The LGW service is not as frequent as the offers from LHR, but at least it is more civilized......and LGW still has the 1 bag policy
The 1 AA flight from ORD is frequently full in the spring / summer / fall and not available.........this is not a good situation, as UA / BD with *A at least offers the minimal BD lounge at LHR from T1 to DUB. Any chance that BA will open up the terraces for arriving AA passengers anytime soon? |

Yeah.....LGW just changed a few days ago.....Going through LHR a couple of days ago further compounded my disgust with this airport. It is a bit like going to war with the employees of BAA the whole time, and I'm sure LGW/STN is no better (being BAA Airports).......no lounge access in DUB or at LHR on the way out just makes things worse.....I'm done with it and will connect in AMS / FRA / BRU / anywhere else that offers a connection if I cannot get a direct flight to DUB from the USA on OW........then again I could switch to ST :D
