I'm a little fuzzy on the rules, but are you allowed to "backtrack" on a Circle Pacific ticket?
Namely, would LAX-HKG-SIN-BKK-SYD-LAX (or vice-versa) be allowed? |
The Oneworld rules tend to be a lot simpler than for Skyteam and Star products.
About the only routing rule on Circle Pacific is the need to cross both the north and south pacific (and those are defined as separated by the equator, so no strange geography issues) and to stay on Oneworld airlines. The mileage limit is enough to limit creative routings. Your route is 21,873 miles for LAX-HKG-SIN-BKK-SYD-LAX |

The UA & NZ economy surcharges are for premium economy. OW has the same kinds of surcharges for premium economy.

Yes I know. The key word there was plethora, which makes it much more tedious to arrange a RTW trip on *A; thus making number_6's comment "The Oneworld rules tend to be a lot simpler than for Skyteam and Star products." oh so true.

Travel must include only one Trans Atlantic (between area 1 and area 2) crossing and only one Trans Pacific (between area 1 and area 3) crossing. Such intercontinental sector may be a surface sector provided the mileage for such sector is included in the mileage calculation. C. Not more than one crossing may be permitted between Area 2 and Area 3 in an entire journey. For the purpose of this rule, SVX is to be considered part of area 2. E. For the purpose of this rule the following flights using the polar route are to be considered as Trans Pacific flights: AC1/2 YYZ-NRT and vv AC15/16 YYZ-HKG and vv AC31/32 YYZ-PEK and v.v. AC37/38 YYZ-PVG and vv AC65/66 YYZ-ICN and vv SQ37/38 SIN-LAX and v.v. SQ21/22 SIN-EWR and v.v. TG792/793 BKK-JFK and v.v. |
It is just a different approach. OW lists which codeshares are valid - all others are not. *A lists which codeshares are invalid - all others are.

Thinking of doing an ACIR22 Ex MNL.
Would like to get F on all sectors (Except AUs domestic)so does require some backtracking through HKG and SYD MNL-HKG-SYD-MEL-SYD-LAX-NRT-PVG-HKG-MNL Also does anyone know how much additional stopovers are (ie after the first 4 freebies)? |
It's in the fare rules on the oneworld web site.
|
8. PERMITTED STOPOVERS A. Free: 22,000 miles – minimum two maximum four free stopovers permitted 26,000 miles – minimum two maximum five free stopovers permitted 29,000 miles – minimum two maximum six free stopovers permitted NOTES: i) Only one stopover permitted at any point. ii) Two stopovers required outside country of origin. iii) A maximum of one stopover in country of origin iv) A maximum of two free stopovers per region (SWP / Asia / North America / South America) v) Where a passenger disembarks at one point and re-embarks at a subsequent point enroute, the points count as a single stopover B. Additional: Permitted at an additional charge per stopover of USD75.00/CAD115.00 NOTES: i) Additional stopovers may not be purchased in country of origin. ii) Additional stopovers restricted to two stopovers per region iii) Child /infant discount not applicable |

Was planning on doing SYD twice as a stop, so think I will just drop the MEL leg. |
