Namely, would LAX-HKG-SIN-BKK-SYD-LAX (or vice-versa) be allowed?

No backtracking rule per se so the itin looks ok to me.

number_6 Feb 8, 2008 10:45 am

The Oneworld rules tend to be a lot simpler than for Skyteam and Star products.

About the only routing rule on Circle Pacific is the need to cross both the north and south pacific (and those are defined as separated by the equator, so no strange geography issues) and to stay on Oneworld airlines. The mileage limit is enough to limit creative routings.

Your route is 21,873 miles for LAX-HKG-SIN-BKK-SYD-LAX

Does this include codeshares?

 *A circle pacific has the same lack of backtracking rule.

I think number_6 may have been referring to the plethora of ever changing banned flight numbers and surcharges for numerous economy (NZ and UA comes to mind) and business class flights (SQ A380 and 77W being the big offenders here).

Kiwi Flyer Feb 8, 2008 3:41 pm

The UA & NZ economy surcharges are for premium economy. OW has the same kinds of surcharges for premium economy.

aaupgrade Feb 8, 2008 3:50 pm

Yes I know. The key word there was plethora, which makes it much more tedious to arrange a RTW trip on *A; thus making number_6's comment "The Oneworld rules tend to be a lot simpler than for Skyteam and Star products." oh so true.

It is just a different approach. OW lists which codeshares are valid - all others are not. *A lists which codeshares are invalid - all others are.

Thinking of doing an ACIR22 Ex MNL.

Would like to get F on all sectors (Except AUs domestic)so does require some backtracking through HKG and SYD

MNL-HKG-SYD-MEL-SYD-LAX-NRT-PVG-HKG-MNL

Also does anyone know how much additional stopovers are (ie after the first 4 freebies)?

serfty Jun 17, 2008 9:50 pm

It's in the fare rules on the oneworld web site.

serfty Jun 17, 2008 9:50 pm

26,000 miles – minimum two maximum five free stopovers permitted
29,000 miles – minimum two maximum six free stopovers permitted

According to the OW site, additional stopovers are $75.

Which are stopovers and which are transits? I assume MEL-SYD-LAX is a transit in SYD? (AFAIK, you can't stopover in the same place twice, even if you buy additional stopovers).

Was planning on doing SYD twice as a stop, so think I will just drop the MEL leg.
