Can you view OWE itineraries on Cathay website?
I have recently booked and ticketed a DONE4 with AA, which includes several CX flights. When I try to retrieve my booking on CX website, I always get this error message:
We are unable to locate your itinerary at the present time. I called Cathay and they said that it's impossible to view any reservations online (or do seat selection online) until 24 hours before flight! Is that really true? (I find it hard to believe that CX is really behind every other airline in internet capability.) I searched FT and found a thread that said you can only use Retrieve My Booking if your AsiaMiles # is in the reservation. So I called Cathay again, and they said that is not true; you just can't view reservations online period. When I suggested that she add my AsiaMiles # so that I could try it and see, she said that by doing that, I would lose my AA # and therefore miles would accrue to AsiaMiles instead of AA. I know lots of you have experience with OWE tickets with CX flights: how do you view them online? (I know I can see the confirmed segments on aa.com but that has limited detail of CX flights, and as others have suggested, especially when booking flights on open coupons, it's always best to make sure the actual airline has the res.) Happy Travels. |
Not sure if it will work for CX, but try the LAN E-Ticket Print Utility, using your e-ticket number.

I have just booked a DONE5 through CX and asked them to give me the corresponding Amadeus code, so that I can at least look it up on checkmytrip. They said it has been booked through their system and there is no other number.
Can that be true? |

Can that be true? If that all fails, just ring QF (again, if you have a QF flight) and tell them what flight you are booked on and to ask for their PNR. That'll get you into CMT. |
FWIW, LAN E-Ticket Print Utility generally works with either the e-ticket number OR the Amadeus booking reference.
(To see it in English, enter www.lan.com first and set your language "cookie" by clicking "Versión" at the top right and selecting an english speaking region/country) |
aa ticket on Cathay
I just book AA ticket operated by Cathay. Called AA, agent said it has no more seat to select, but on Expedia & Travelocity are plenty seats???
I also found out that if AA ticket (operated by code share) only AA agent can change the seating. Any better way to book our seats? (without agent). |

Not true, in my experience. I have booked AA codeshares operated by both BA and CX. When AA could not allocate seats (it's happened to me on both BA and CX), I called the operating carrier, gave them their flight number, and got the seats I wanted.
