Please help with a DONE4

Would really appreciate your input/advise on our first RTW ticket. Two main purposes of the trip are to maximize on miles and make stops that are necessary.

We are based in Paris, but can start the trip in another European city if that helps. On the DONE4 we want to work DXB in the itinerary in order to maximize miles within Europe but cannot seem to make it work. Please review and give me your feedback.

This is our planned itinerary:
lhr-dxb-lhr-hel-jfk-yul-mia-sal-mia//iad-lax-syd-zqn-syd-jnb-cpt-jnb-mru-lhr

Thanks a lot!

You can not leave the country of origin twice, so originating in the UK is a bad choice for RTWs (since LHR is such a key hub for Oneworld.) Originating in the UK is also very expensive compared to other origin points. For the time being ARN is the cheapest business class origin point in Europe, so changing your itinerary to ARN-LHR-DXB-LHR-JFK...MRU-LHR-ARN would be the easiest thing to do. There are other approaches as well - CDG-AMM-DXB for example, but remember to leave a Europe segment available at the end to get back to your origin point.

For a DONE4, I'd check to see about D availability on some flights - I think maybe SYD-ZQN is only Y but not sure; you could use CHC as an alternate I suppose. Otherwise, no problems with the route.

Edited to add - welcome to FT!

No - SYD-ZQN has (regional) business class. It is the domestic NZ flights that are all economy, and NZ hasn't yet annexed the West Island.

SYD-ZQN is however an infrequent flight and if travelling in (southern) winter will be very difficult to get a seat.

Thank you both so much for your valuable input!

Now I see how DXB can work out, there are so many rules and it is hard to keep track of all!

Have noticed that the flights from SYD-ZQN-SYD are once a week and are considering instead AKL.
