AONE4 Advice please

Hi

After deciding it's time to have a career change, am planning to do AONE4 trip at beginning of November to coincide with this and after reading some of the great advice others have been given on this forum, have decide to post a message and ask for any tips or advice on my itinerary, at the moment it's looking like this:

ARN-xLHR-DXB-LHR-SIN-NRT-DPS-HKG-JFK-LAX-ORD-xDFW-YVR-xLHR-CPT-xJNB-MRU-JNB-xLHR-ARN

Am slightly worried on the legality re the in and out of europe sectors, am planning most of the long hauls by BA F but hope to include CX's new F in 777 on the HKG-JFK leg, and JAL F on the SIN-NRT leg, so hopefully will get good value for the AONE ticket. Am also thinking of changing LAX to SFO what are people's thoughts on the best city to spend a few days in ??

Have read that AA will be the best people to book this with, so intend to do that, but would anybody hazard a guess on a rough ballpark figure for the tax costs?

And finally....have read many great trip reports on FT from people travelling in F and they all seem to quaff champagne and fine wines throughout the flight, but can someone set my mind at ease and tell me if I'll be able to get a cold beer up at the front of the aircraft?... (Yes F Virgin)

Cheers

The itinerary breaks the two entry rule for Europe. To include your stops in Africa you would have to go Europe-NA-Asia-(direct, not via Europe)-Africa-Europe. (or the same but in reverse)

G'day modjo, welcome to AFF.

Here's a tool that you should find useful with your planning:

MileageMonkey v0.95013

Kindly provided by SLF from the orginal from hauteboy.

BTW, Beers of varying types are generally available in F on oneworld carriers. ^

Hard to say and others will no doubt chime in, but think 10+%. [I just paid Y807,850 and Y817,640 for 2 different DONE4s ex-NRT. Base fare is Y743,200 so Y64,650 and Y74,440 in taxes, fuel surcharges etc.]

I'd say SFO, no contest.

Proportionately less for an AONEx and proportionately more for LONEx.

You should put it through MileageMonkey tool as posted first.

This returns the following error:

...
17: MRU-JNB: 3rd of 4 (Africa)
Rule violated!!!! [JNB-LHR] Max 1 segment(s): Ghana/Nigeria/Kenya/Uganda/Tanzania transit (second EUR entry?)
