Stopovers in continent of origin

Hi guys,

Just wondering if this is allowable as an ending to my DONE4

Originate in MEL-LAX-.......-JNB-SYD-PER (stopover)-ADL-PER (stopover)-ADL

Thanks,

Paul

I say it's valid. But, AFAIK the new surface rule has not been tested yet regarding origin-destination surface, so it would not surprise me if QF gave you grief in this regard, however unlikely it seems.

Thanks viajero,

In the end I think I'm stuck with SYD-PER(stopover)-ADL(stopover)-PER

So will be left with one segment unused but that may be counted as the surface segment anyway back to origin as you say. Although in theory that surface segment would breach the multiple transcon rule wouldn't it?

No, because for these type of restrictions a distinction is usually made between "flown" segments and "plain" segments; in the case you mention the rule says "ONLY 1 NONSTOP OR SINGLE PLANE FLIGHT...etc", so surface segments are excluded.
