Is this itinerary ok for a DONE5?
Hi,
As far as I have understood, the following itinerary should be valid. Can anyone confirm? Also, do you find there's something wrong with this itinerary? I'll be mainly travelling in order to see the places, not to accumulate miles, but if there are some easy miles to be gained I'm always willing to take another route... 01 AY HEL-BCN (1st European flight, 1st European stopover) 02 IB BCN-UIO (intercontinental) 03 LP UIO-LIM (1st South-Am flight) LIM-CUZ-LIM flights bought separately 04 LA LIM-SCL (2nd South-Am flight) SCL-USH-SCL flights bought separately 05 LA SCL-IPC (3rd South-Am flight) 06 LA IPC-SCL (4th South-Am flight) 07 LA SCL-AKL (intercontinental) 08 QF AKL-SYD (1st SWP flight) 09 QF SYD-ASP (2nd SWP flight) 10 QF ASP-DRW (3rd SWP flight) 11 QF DRW-DPS (intercontinental) 12 QF DPS-SIN (1st Asian) 13 QF SIN-BKK (2nd Asian) 14 CX BKK-HKG (3rd Asian) 15 CX HKG-JNB (intercontinental) 16 BA JNB-WDH (1st African) 17 BA WDH-JNB (2nd African) JNB-CPT-JNB flights with some low-fare airline 18 BA JNB-MRU (3rd African) 19 BA MRU-LHR (intercontinental, 2nd stopover in Europe) 20 AY LHR-HEL (2nd European flight) Thanks! |
Looks fine to me.

11 QF DRW-DPS (intercontinental) 12 QF DPS-SIN (1st Asian) When do you plan on flying on the intra-Australia flights? FYI, Qantas is set to remove the 737 service between ASP-DRW from November and just have all-Y configured QantasLink 717-200s operating flights. Qantas is still selling J on the route, but it would be best to call them and check the latest. You can still fly ASP-DRW but you would have to be prepared to fly Economy (but you've paid for a DONE5 so that would be a shame if you did!). With regards to Denpasar-Singapore, Qantas operate this on a limited schedule with 737-800s. Now here's the problem - while Qantas' 737-800s feature 12 Business class seats, unfortunately PER-DPS-SIN-DPS-PER services are sold as all Economy (Business isn't available for sale). So you will get a J class seat, but it will come with Economy service. DPS-SIN isn't a long flight, but like above, you want to maximise your time getting the fine J service and seats! DRW-DPS isn't a problem as Business class is available on flights between these ports. Does this stuff things for you? No? Thanks |
Some ideas to get more miles:
DRW-DPS is a fairly short flight. You could get substantially more miles by buying some of the inner-australian flights (they are typically fairly cheap) and then go SYD-NRT-SIN-DPS |
trsqr,
What bad timing... Qantas has just announced it will be discontinuing DRW-DPS from the end of October but is seeking an agreement with DRW based operator Air North to possibly ops flights. Think you'll need to make some changes now.. Cheers |

Cheers PS: cancellation of DRW-DPS route by QF is not surprising IMO; I flew DPS-DRW last year and there were 7 (seven!) PAX on board a 737-400 |
