Owe4

Hi,

I am planning to buy OWE4 from Sweden and take appx the following route: ARN-MAD-EZE-GRU-LIM-EZE-SCL-AKL-SYD-PEK-NRT-BKK-HKG-DEL-LHR-ARN

After reading the available guidelines and FAQs I have the folowing questions that I hope you guys can answer:

Is Sweden still the cheapest starting point for Europe?
How do you confirm flight dates after first intercontinental flight? You call your agent in Sweden or is it done online?
Anything else that you think is worth mentioning but not so obvious?

Best regards,
Vladimir

We need to know if you're flying in economy, business or first class in order to comment on cheapest origin point.

The route is valid; if you read the sticky threads and rules you'll know that you're leaving several segments on the table, but that's your business I suppose.

You can leave the segments after the first one open-dated and phone the operating airline when you want to book a date. Note available seats on any given day may not be easily come by, so by open-dating segments you run the risk of not flying when you want.

Firstly, price depends greatly on what class you choose to travel. However, for a Done4 sweden is the least expensive starting point in europe.

However, if you consider that europe has been expanded by OW, other starting points such as syria, lebanon, and qatar are cheaper. Just a thought.

I'm not an expert, but i believe the above to be true . . .

Hi,

I forgot to point out that I was planning to buy business class. Sweden pans out to something around 6700 $CAN, comparing to over 8K in other European countries.

I have verified this route on OW software trip planning program and I do plan to add a few more sectors. I wanted to stop at Papeete but I could not find any SCL-PPT flights at the particular time frame.

PPT is a dead-end because there are no valid connecting flights onward. The PPT-SYD or AKL flights that show up in the Oneworld planner are Air Tahiti flights carrying Qantas codeshare flight nos., thus ineligible.

SCL-PPT operates between 3 and 5 days a week (varies seasonally). The IPC-PPT sector is considered to be trans-Pacific, so it is a valid routing, but you have to open-jaw out of PPT at your own expense. So routing SCL-PPT//AKL-SYD is valid, for example, however it might be cheaper to route SCL-AKL-SYD and buy a separate AKL-PPT-AKL ticket.

PPT return from AKL is reasonably cheap in economy and, when on sale in business also.
