Anyone flown LAN Argentina yet??
Trying to get award tix USA-EZE and it appears that AA has almost no availablity while LAN Argentina does. I remember the 2-class LAN planes (LIM-SCL) as being OK, but not much better than EI (seat comfort only). But given the convoluted LAN structure, does LAN Argentina have those planes, the old 3-class LAN with 1 row of FC, or even better the new premium business class? In other words, has anyone flown on LAN Argentina on long-haul? It appears that only economy is offered for those flights entirely within Argentina.

I haven't flown LAN Argentina, so emailed some people in LAN I know and they respomded that it is the same as with LAN (Chile): a mixture of new and old Business Class, with no guarantee on any given day. Unfortunately EF is not capable of showing LAN Argentina seat maps, otherwise one could have an idea; AA would know, however.

LAN would have liked to share their planes like they do between LAN Chile, Peru and Ecuador, but the Argentinean Gov't required them to have planes registered in Argentina. Because of that, those planes fly to MIA stay there all day and go back at night. With the other LAN flights, they have the plane arriving from SCL in the morning leave for UIO-GYE, the plane arriving from LIM in the afternoon goes to SCL and the plane from UIO-GYE goes to LIM late at night, minimizing ground time. |
I have flown the MIA-EZE-MIA LAN Argentina (4M) flight last December on the 767 in Y. I do not know if it is two or three class, but LAN's site implies that only the SCL-AKL and SCL-MAD flights are still three class. I assume that it's the new business class layout, but I don't know for sure. I don't remember seeing three classes when boarding, but I also wasn't paying a lot of attention at the time.

I flew the AKL-SYD last week and there were 3 classes with the Business Class seat not the last style but definitely comfortable with AVOD. It definitely beat QF J seats!^ :) |

Is that because these two routes are flown with the A340-300 that will not have the new business class seats but be retained as 3 class?...
