Has anyone had any joy having a RTW ticket issued in DOH, please?

Ajnaro reported in this thread that Doha(without specifying which airline) would not take credit card info over the phone or via fax - in person only.
Christep has reported in this thread that the CX GSA in Doha assisted him with putting together an aone3.

If Doha sales make it tricky to purchase and have an itinerary which can be e-ticketed, then I would suggest trying to hold an itinerary with the AA ATW desk and then getting it ticketed through AA in Australia; Since there is no xONE3 offered out of Australia, can purchase it in Australia at the Doha price

Yes. I know of an ex Asia one being ticketed in Australia, just cannot remember whether it was ticketed by QF or AA

Very interesting indeed, because if it works for Oz then it should also work for anywhere else in the Southern Hemisphere.

It does say in the fare rules

Since there is no xONE3 available from Australia or Chile, then the fare of the country where the xONE3 originates can be charged

Yeah, I know, the doubt in my 'if' was directed to the yet unknown reaction from the airlines, be it in SCL, EZE or JNB, not the rule, whiich is clear enough, although we all know how sometimes the airlines play hard to get on these finer points.

Say one tries to have one of these particular xONE3s reissued (after first flight) in another country as an xONE4/5/6... chance of success?

I'm sure you'd be able to upgrade it, the question is what would you be charged? For example if you bought an ex-DOH AONE3 in Australia at DOH prices and then tried to upgrade in in, say, HKG to an AONE4, would the extra price be the difference between AONE4(ex-Aus) and the AONE3, or AONE4(ex-DOH)-AONE3(ex-DOH). I suspect they'd try to get you for the former since the point of sale was Australia.

I researched this a little having had AONE3's issued in Australia. As it's not possible to issue an AONE3 starting in Australia (the minimum being an AONE4), no AONE3 fare exists; therefore the fare of the country of origin is used. Once we go to an ANOE4 which does exist in Australia, the country of origin fare (e.g. Qatar) is compared to the country of issue fare (Australia), and the latter has to be charged as it's higher.

Reissuing after the first leg is possible, but not at the country of origin price.
