CX in C and JL in F

I am trying to set up a 1W award. For SIN-NRT, currently there is availability in CX in C and F in JL . My itinerary already has a JL flight in C (although it currently is available only in Y). Should I experience CX or take JL - F. I haven't flown either airlines. Which would be better?

JL in F is better than CX in J for the food alone. The nonstop flight on JL is another big plus.

Isn't the food on JL mainly Japanese? I'm not that much into food even if its western. Are there significant differences regarding other features? Isn't CX business seat a fully lie flat one or is that only for long haul ones? I do have a tendency to try new airlines and lounges.

Actually non-stop don't really appeal to me. I really like plane takeoffs and landings.

CX has 2 kinds of J seats - regional and long haul. The regional seats are so-so. The long haul seats are angled flat. The NRT-HKG flight could have either kind depending on the flight number.

CX flies BKK to SIN once per day. You could fly CX to BKK and connect to JL for a more interesting route. Its a long layever though.

Then fly CX F from SIN to HKG, overnight there and then take the nonstop HKG-NRT on CX in F - much better than JL's F.

I have done exactly that. The Regal Airport Hotel at HKG is very convenient for making thoses type of connections. Also CX 504 is an excellent flight going from HKG-NRT... arriving at NRT in the early afternoon for a great trip...

The Regal Airport hotel is a dump, with tiles falling off the wall due to shoddy construction (lots of other flaws). The most expensive 5-star tenement in the world, and the worst value of any airport hotel anywhere. If you must stay by the airport, try the Novotel (much nicer, and often half the Regal price). It is a shame that the Regal turned into such a disaster, it could have been great.
