AONE4 Help

I would like to do a RW F trip.

Would this be a good route:

DFW-SYD-CNS-BKK-HKG-AMS-LHR-YVR-DFW

I guess I have to back track from Cairns back to SYD then BKK is that allowed? Going HKG to AMS would be VIA LHR on CX or BA. If I go LHR YVR I keep the miles into my AA account?????? I could go BA to ORD or LAX but no AA miles I think.

Anyone know how many miles I would get with this routing? I am working to get EXP this year and have much of July off to do this.

I'm open to ideas from all you world travelers!

Last but not least the cost? 10K?

Thanks

As you noted, there are gaps to fill-in and you'd not be using your full 20 segements, but the following routing should work:

DFW-LAX-SYD-CNS-SYD-BKK-HKG-LHR-AMS-LHR-YVR-DFW

You still have nine segments to use.

DFW-LAX-SYD-CNS-BNE-SYD-BKK- .. is a valid route; you can have 4 segments withing SWP (OZ/NZ) and backtracking with a continent (e.g. SWP) is permitted ..

Please read the sticky thread at the top of this forum: The oneworld explorer ticket FAQs.

Yes.

For costs, see the sticky.

You really should take a close look at the sticky thread up at the top of the forum heading.

DFW-JFK-SYD-CNS-SYD-HKG-BKK-HKG-LHR-AMS-LHR-YVR-DFW
Would work but you would be wasting a lot of possible segments, 4 in North America (but only 2 stopovers allowed because it is your continent of origin), 2 in SWP, 2 in Asia, and 2 in Europe.
For mileage try the great circle mapper.
Prices can be found here.

CX flies HKG-AMS non-stop but might not have F service on that route (other alternatives to LHR with F on CX are FCO and FRA).

BA flights TATL earn AA miles only if they aren't to the US. So any of the BA flights to Canada (YYZ, YUL, YVR) earn, as do other NA flights such as LHR-MEX, and the dozen different caribbean flights. You could do LHR-NAS for example and then NAS-MIA-DFW. However the YVR flight is a good one.

OWE prices vary by country. US origin is one of the most expensive. Lots of alternatives, with a wide range of costs.

LHR-MEX-DFW is another good option.

No F to AMS. HKG-CDG is another option with F, but, I would not waste European segments going CDG/FCO/FRA-LHR-AMS; I'd just fly into LHR. I think that FCO only has F seasonally (like JNB).

Actually, the NAS flight is operated by a 763, which no longer has First Class, so that flight would not be a wise choice on an AONE ticket. I am pretty that BGI (Barbados) is the only Carribean destination with F service and that is served from LGW, not LHR.

The longest LHR-North America flight is LHR-MEX at 5541 miles (LHR-LAX is 5456 miles). BA flies this route, but not daily. BA flies LHR-YVR daily, but it is "only" 4723 miles.
