Or the OP can go back via Africa using a OW Circle Trip. AFAIK there is no limitation of transcons in Australia for this fare. So the routing would be something like:

LHR-PVG-HKG-MEL-PER-SYD-JNB-LHR

This would still leave 4 segments (but only 2 stopovers) in Europe, 3 in Asia, 2 in Aus and 4 in Africa to play with. E.g. Africa could include Mauritius, Vic Falls or Cape Town.

It sure seems that way, but what really has me puzzled is why BA HQ (LON?) is playing along with MRU and actually ticketing these "relaxed" itineraries. Weird.
