Alternatively, for a bit more miles and requiring only one stopover in Abu Dhabi (which technically could be done as a transit < 24 hours), lhr-mct-AUH-mct-lhr. By my limited understanding of BAEC rules you then get the longhaul tier points for 4 flights, take as long elapsed time as lhr-mct-lhr-ist-lhr but with almost a day in Abu Dhabi (although same tier points it earns less miles).

So my options now are either:
MRU-LHR-AUH-LHR-IST-LHR-MIA-JFK-YVR-SFO-DTW-DFW-LAS//LAX-SYD//CBR-PER-MEL-AKL-SYD-JNB-MRU OR MRU-LHR-MCT-AUH-MCT-LHR-MIA-JFK-YVR-SFO-DTW-DFW-LAS//LAX-SYD//CBR-PER-MEL-AKL-SYD-JNB-MRU OR rearranging the N.American bit becomes: MRU-LHR-MCT-AUH-MCT-LHR-MIA-DFW-DTW-SFO//LAX-DFW-JFK-YVR-SYD//CBR-PER-MEL-AKL-SYD-JNB-MRU I actually prefer missing the Istanbul section as I was there a few weeks ago and don't want to spend more time than needed in Europe region. Lastly, are we sure about the LHR-MCT-AUH-MCT-LHR counts as 4 full segments. Can I spend a couple of days in ACT and a couple of days in AUH or to earn the credit (360 per leg, so 1440 for LHR-MCT-AUH-MCT-LHR) I need to NOT spend anytime there? |
Are you looking at a Business class ticket (DONEx) as in your OP or are you now looking for a first class ticket (AONEx)?
Some of the advice above is really only relevent for AONEx's...

Some of the advice above is really only relevent for AONEx's... Aside from F in NA on two class domestic AA flights, the TP earning is 120 / 40 |

Note that if your aim is to make BAEC Gold, you could allocate your domestic AA metal flights (and some others later) to an AA Platinum Challenge and make it, thus ending up with both Gold and Plat. Mileage earning on AA is better than on BA in many cases. |
Is this solely to gain miles or to see the places you're traveling to? If the latter, than two of the cities you chose to visit in the US are a bit strange. Dallas and Detroit? There are so many more worthwhile cities in this country...SEA, ANC, BOS, DCA, PDX, AUS...ok well, that's about it. Maybe not SO many, but still.

I am sorry if I gave the impression that it was a DONE4 fare, it was originally but as the fare from MRU is so good I have decided on a AONE4 fare.

Hello,
I am looking to book a RTW for June. My route would look like: LHR-JFK-ORD-LAX-HNL-SYD-AKL-MEL-SYD-HKG-PEK-HKG-LHR I am BA silver but will revert to Blue in April, how many miles and tier points would I earn. Where would the best place to book this routing be and is there a better routing about? Looking for Business class. Thanks. |

Any help is appreciated as the rest I have now locked the rest of the route: MRU-LHR-MCT-AUH-MCT-LHR-(OPEN FOR BETTER ROUTING)-SYD//CBR-PER-MEL-AKL-SYD-JNB-MRU Does anyone have an answer to the LHR-MCT-AUH-MCT-LHR question I posted earlier? |

The ENTIRE N.America section is open for beter flights. I am looking for maximum earning potential but would like to visit West (LAX, LAS and SFO) and on the East (NYC and MIA) Detroit (DTW) is where my grandparents live so would like to visit them. Dallas is in my plan because it's AA's hub and would need to go through it to get to other places?
Any help is appreciated as the rest I have now locked the rest of the route: ... LHR-LAX-MIA-DTW-DFW-ANC-DFW-JFK-SYD for 720 TP's in N/A. It's quite inexpensive to visit LAS from LAX; I'd do it as a separate trip. |

You can actually fly the two sectors on the same plane with the different tickets by OLCIing and getting LHR to print both BPs. When doing this on a BAH-DOH run the FA went down the ramp and ran our BPs through the machine. I am pretty sure people have done the same on the AUH-MCT run

[b]Absolutely no question. LHR-MCT and MCT-AUH are different flight numbers to each other, as are AUH-MCT and MCT-LHR, and the same flight number route pairings LHR-MCT and AUH-MCT (and MCT-AUH and MCT-LHR) are flown on different days.
Further, Moomba advises even done on the same day works. In fact LHR-AUH-MCT-AUH-LHR on the same ticket should be easier than described above (which is when the tag leg is booked on different ticket) since can get the LHR-AUH and AUH-MCT boarding passes in London and the MCT-AUH and AUH-LHR boarding passes in Muscat. This then saves a day over my suggestion, earns the same number of tier points, but slightly less miles.

DTW makes it a bit tough to maximize but the following may be OK:
LHR-LAX-MIA-DTW-DFW-ANC-DFW-JFK-SYD for 720 TP's in N/A. It's quite inexpensive to visit LAS from LAX; I'd do it as a separate trip. MRU-LHR-MCT-AUH-MCT-LHR-LAX-MIA-DTW-DFW-ANC-DFW-JFK-SYD//CBR-PER-MEL-AKL-SYD-JNB-MRU The routing looks good. Nets me 2220 Tier points in First and 56,493 miles. I could leave out DTW and have ORD instead (flights are cheap between ORD and DTW, so can book seperately) but looking at the earning potential, this routing seems to net me the most points and miles. |

There're still no DTW-SFO or v.v. flights. There's a DTW-LAX flight that stops en route, but it's less than 2000 mi.
However AA1883 DTW-DFW-SAN is in the current timetable, but also less than 2000 miles. |

MRU-LHR-MCT-AUH-MCT-LHR-LAX-SJU-DFW-ANC-ORD-MIA-JFK-SYD//CBR-PER-MEL-AKL-SYD-JNB-MRU Now 2340 tier points. But I was wondering if the service DFW-ANC-ORD has a first service? |
