WLG to KUL
 

Hey there flyertalkers, got a quick trip to Kuala Lumpur. Would love to get the points on my AA plat, so was looking at Qantas to HKG and then HKG to KUL via CX. So far, not finding good connects ...

Was trying to leave on the weekend and get there before the 18th of Dec, and get back to WLG before 21st of Dec.

Any suggestions on routing?

It seems to me that you're going to ned to overnight somewhere. The other routing would be WLG-AKL-HKG-KUL, but you would need to overnight in HKG on the Saturday night (is that a bad thing?). Going back works a bit better: leave KUL at 1:45pm, arr WLG 3:30pm the next day.

Alternatively go as far as SIN on QF and then get one of the MH/SQ shuttles up to KUL.

Thanks for the tip on the SIN / KUL shuttle service. This made it easy to also plan to fly QF from QLG to SIN. Only issue now is finding seats; just used expertflyer to check on seat availability and now i gotta see if biz class is going to be do-able. ;)
