Getting in first class on 2-class LAN flights...
 

I've. got a SCL-GIG leg coming up in early Jan. It's part of a DONE5 and having recently obtained BA Gold am keen to exploit my OW Emerald status and see if I can nab one of the first class seats. The seat map is currently showing 5 abreast in row 1 - for what I believe is a 2-class flightl. 3 seats remain unallocated....

Is there anyway I can contact LAN online to request a first class seat? I'd figured that i'd obviously be lower down the list than LAN Emeralds, Fully flex J ticket holders and those on first class awards if applicable but would like to try nonetheless.

The problem with contacting LAN before departure is that LAN tends to hold those seats right up to the end, just in case a Comodoro shows up at the last minute. Still, that wouldn't stop me from trying... what's there to lose?

You won't have any luck prior to check-in. I've received these seats on a few occasions, but never prior to check-in (or it was assigned before I checked in, but not much before).
