open-jaw origin/destination between HK and mainland China allowed I think...so starting PVG and ending HKG should be no problem. However, does this origin/destination open-jaw counts as one stopover ?
thanks.
The first part of your question about starting PVG and ending HKG is definitely stated in the rules as being allowed. The second part of the question gets into the area of interpretation and I have had recent problems with both BA and AA as to how open jaws are treated. In talking with a seemingly more knowledgable AA NoAm RTW agent this morning (at least he dealt with my issues in what seemed to be the correct way), I asked specifically your second question and he confirmed that ending the trip in a different (allowable) city is not counted as a stopover (which is logical-- but logic doesn't always seem to apply).

This is consistent with the archive: sometimes they say yes, sometimes they say no. Getting it past an agent, however, is only one of the battles (albeit an important one), the real war is won when the tariff desk in Dublin comes back with a price -and- the ticket is issued. If you go ahead with it, and get it ticketed, if would be of value to the forum if you reported your success back to this thread. TIA.
