I am planning a circle pacific trip for early/mid jan 07

Can I book a segment at this time including JL from SIN to KUL, that would save me from having to buy a separate tix outside my Circle Pacific fare???

Or is it too early to do this?

I guess no one has a firm date yet for the arrival of JAL??

No, Yes, No.

JL is joining 1Q07 which undoubtedly means March 31, 2007, so too late for your travel dates. But JL is already participating in the mileage based RTW products (such as GE), so if your trip is short enough with the right routing you could buy that today and fly JL.

SIN-KUL is a cheap flight these days so I would not go out of my way to try to make that route work and would just by a separate ticket if necessary.

Infact, if you're travelling from SIN city centre to KUL city centre, rather than just airport to airport, you're probably better off going by road anyway. With the likes of Transtar plying the route, and about four hours travel time straight up the Lebuh Raya for most of it there's little reason to deal with the hassle of flying (even as much as I love any excuse for a visit to Changi Airport :D ).

I have book lax-mel-ayq-syd-bne-glt-bne-nrt-lax beginning 16 Jan and fare business is $5,770 (approx.) for all. Glitch is bne-nrt has a JL n/s but as of now I cannot opt it. AA is booking the trip and says I can put in the JL n/s anytime prior to flight (it is at the end of the trip--1 Feb--so any input on exact date of JL add to Pacific Circle would be appreciated. AA says it has no information.

In addition, is this a good $ for business or is there a better way? A straight ticket w/o the Circle--lax-mel-ayq-syd-bne-glt-bne-lax prices out over 10K that is the only reason for going on the Circle fare. Any options? Tx. NCD

Nobody knows an exact date for JL joining OW, all that has been announced is 1Q07, but in the past it has always slipped due to the technical problems of getting ready for membership (and all airlines have to be ready, not just JL). My opinion is zero chance for Feb 1, maybe Mar 31 but not before then.
