How many BA miles for a RTW ticket?

Hey I couldn't find it on their website and short of calling them in the UK, I was wondering how many Executive Club miles I would need for a Done4 ticket?

Do the same rules then apply, that im allowed 4 trips inside a continent and 6 inside the US?

Cheers

matt

The oneworld explorer is a purchased fare, not an award, so you cannot pay for it with miles.

Even if they have an award for a xOnex the problem is trying to find award availability on all of those flights.

This is where for example the *A RTW award usually hits the fan...

There are RTW awards but they are mileage based, and the terms and restrictions vary by the airline FF plan that you use to redeem them. BA doesn't appear to publish this type of award on its web site (or it is well hidden), so you would have to phone them. For AA the maximum mileage is 50K miles and 16 segments and costs 330K miles in F. For QF the maximum is 35K miles. After you phone BAEC to find out this info, please update this thread with it (and a URL to the ba.com web site if it is available). After you do this, we can help you with additional questions you might have.

The table at the bottom of this page has some basic information about oneworld awards:

Based on that table BAEC cost 480K miles for the 50K OW F award (vs 330K for AA).

How did you work that out? BA don't have a RTW award product as such (or they didn't when I last phoned them in early 2006). You just add up the one way awards, so the number of miles needed depends on where you want to go and the number of sectors (and the class).

The OW (Oneworld) awards have been the "RTW" award product for the 8 OW airlines. It is mileage based and does not actually require going around the world (in fact it can even be a oneway award). The BA web site shows the award table for Y (J is double and F is triple miles). It might be in the secured part of the web site (signin required, so you must be a BAEC member, which of course is not easy on BA as you must fly a premium flight on BA before you are allowed to join).

Only because I posted the signed-in version of the URL. :o This is the public
