Circle pacific fare
 
My first post, so I'll keep it short. Travelling SYD-MEX in May. Cheapest Oneworld D fare seems to be a CIR (22,000 miles) SYD-HKG-YVR-DFW-LAX-SYD at a cost of AUD$7K. From DFW I will purchase a separate economy fare and take AA to MEX and return to DFW. Any cheaper way to get to and from AUS to the US using ONE in business? Any comments appreciated...

Try this:

SYD-SCL-MEX-DFW-LAX-SYD

This (I think) would also work as a circle-pacific fare (via S. America, instead of Asia), comes in at only 20,803 miles and INCLUDES the flights to MEX...

It'll save you a little bit of money, on the DFW-MEX flights.

I think the DCIR22 and DCIR26 products do not allow for travel to South America. You must use the DCIR29SA

Thanks, that's a great suggestion that saves on the DFW-MEX flights and keeps me in "J" for the whole trip. Much appreciated.

Not sure if anyone's interested, but I managed to book this directly with QF and the mileage SYD-NRT-DFW-MEX-DFW-LAX-SYD came in at 21993. At least I am getting value for money for the DCIR22 fare...

For about one thousand $ more, you could get an award flight SYD-BKK-SYD, buy a DONE4, get to MEX and home again, then a whole lot more (eg BKK-LHR- (4 segments)-(USA and Mexico) - SYD-(4 SW Pacific segments)-HKG (4 segments)-BKK.

Can I do JFK-SYD-HKG-LAX on a DCIR22?

FYI, for the purpose of the above rule, Canada and USA is considered ONE COUNTRY.

I don't see that in the rules for CIRPAC fares. I see a specific exception allowing open-jaw LAX-YVR, but that's all. please could you point out the relevant text for us in the rules: http://www.hardlink.com/~markdu/OWFiles/OneCirPac.html
