Aer Lingus: Next stop Bangkok?

In addition to its new route to DXB EI are looking at routes to BKK, SIN, KUL, HKG.

Probably of more benefit to us claiming OW awards than those on a DONEX who may prefer BA/QF/CX in J. DUB-BKK would be 6,126 miles, does EI have the equipment for such a route?

Hope not.. one can only handle a limited number of Kylie Minogue videos in an enclosed space. :p

I am a bit surprised that they are not looking at Moscow or St. Petes. My better half understands Russian and she was commenting on how many Russian speakers there were.

Well someone's got to keep our lapdancing bars staffed. ;)

BTW there are far more Chinese (and now Poles) than Russians in Ireland. In any case I suspect the routes would be more geared towards meeting demand for Irish tourists than foreign ex-pats living here.

You can do Moscow or St. Petersburg with an A320 from Ireland - no need for an A330 on this route.

I would have thought that any service to Bkk would not be non stop but via Dubai providing they have the right agreement with Thailand. Gives EI a lot more scope to expand
