SSH possible on LONE ?
 

I'm in Egypt right now after a flight to CAI in December. My next leg is supposed to be a CAI-LHR. I noticed that BA is doing SSH-LGW which might save me a 9h bus trip from Dahab to Cairo.

I called BA in CAI a few days ago to change my booking and enquire if SSH was possible on my LONE. I was told NO, but I would be happy to have a confirmation from here. It took the BA egyptian lady already 10 min to figure out that I did not need to pay anything if I was only changing dates on my booking, so I prefer to double check.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to change assuming L availability.

You would need to pay the re-routing change fee though.

The flights from SSH are on GB metal, but that shouldn't be a problem.

Also note they only fly Sat Tue and Wed.

I can't see why there would be an issue subject to availability and payment of the change fee; perhaps contact BA in UK

If this is the first leg of a new xONEx ticket that you are changing, then the fare must be recalculated (presumably it is much higher now). You cannot change routing on the first leg without a fare recalc (essentially you refund the original ticket and buy a new ticket from scratch).

Just to clarify, this is not the first leg, but the 3rd one. I left from CDG for a CDG-LHR-CAI-LHR-NRT....

Now I feel too lazy to go back to CAI and would feel somewhat better to leave from SSH, but since I have to jump into a LHR-NRT leg, I will see if it is manageable to arrive in LGW.

I think that the egyptian BA lady on the phone just wanted to get rid of me, I will try to call back in a few days and see if I get someone more willing to spend time with customers.

I remember also that someone posted references about a reliable and knowledgeable travel agency in CAI, so will try to search the forum and get my hands on this one, it might be useful.
