Help on DONEx / AA choices

i'm on the tail end of a DONE4 with only a month left to travel. so far the ticket has been:

IST-LHR-DXB-LHR-LAX-SJU-DFW-ANC-DFW-JFK-EZE

i had grand plans to do the SCL-IPC run but have just run out of time.

for the next part of the itinerary i need to go to DEL. I am based in NY so i have to go to SA to pick up the ticket in EZE again. I'm trying to figure out the best way to get to DEL by maximizing miles and comfort. Ideally, i'm thinking about taking the ORD-DEL flight (so I can upgrade using EVIP) but don't know if it is possible given the fact that I can only transit in the US and don't have any segments left. So here are the two questions...

Is there a way that I can talk the ORD-DEL flight? (overland segments?)
If not, what is my best routing, EZE-JFK-HKG-DEL... on AA/CX or take an option through NRT so that I can upgrade the transpacific on AA?

You'll get much better advice on this over in the oneworld forum. However, I don't think you'll be able to use the ORD-DEL flight since there is no non-stop service from SA-ORD and I don't believe you're allowed to hop around NA using the SA-Asia exemption. Others in the oneworld forum will know better if this is allowed.

Your best and most comfortable bet is probably EZE-JFK-HKG-DEL on AA/CX although EZE-(SCL-LIM)-LAX-HKG-DEL (3 OWE segments only, about the same mileage) is also a possibility there isn't availability through JFK. You could also route JFK/LAX-NRT-HKG-DEL if you want to upgrade on AA.

I guess it boils down to transpacific F on AA v. J on CX. I'd pick CX and go EZE-SCL-LAX (LA) - HKG-DEL (CX), or just EZE-JFK-HKG-DEL. I don't think there's a prohibition on openjaws on your no-stopover transit through NA en route to Asia, so if you want to pay for the segment, you probably go EZE-DFW//ORD-DEL if you can make it all in less than a day.

Any SA segments avail to include IPC?

If you have at least 2 SA segments available you may try including SCL-IPC-SCL by buying a separate cheap EZE-SCL (LA) ticket (or even use one of the segments if available) and thus change itinerary to EZE-(open jaw)-SCL-IPC-SCL-(LA)LAX-(CX)HKG-(CX)DEL

I'm moving this to the Oneworld Forum as I think the folks over there will be able to give you the best help.

Good luck.

I do have the SA segment available but can't get the dates to match up to my schedule for having the days that the SCL-IPC-SCL flights are available... and i don't have the time to stay more days. Also, even though it is sacrilidge, i'm going to have to give up some segments on this ticket as the EZE/SCL to DEL trip will be quite greuling.

on an aside. once i'm in DEL, (and used one segment as HKG-DEL), where else can I go that will maximize my segments without having to spend the overnight in HKG. The only thing I can come up with is Peking (DEL-HKG-PEK) as the flight into HKG from DEL arrives real late.

Alternate use of available SA Segments

If you do have the two SA segments & the time & the class availability and don't want to waste the segments then you can try SCL-CCS-SCL, or SCL-SSA-SCL (only certain days) or even SCL-PUQ-SCL for a shorter but more frequent flights.

In Asia you could try HKG-DPS-HKG for a few days of relaxation in DPS before going on to DEL. On the OW Website DPS is in the Asia region but the new OWE Electronic Timetable puts it in the Pacific region. Perhaps the Dec 26, 2004 earthquake and ensuing tsunami moved DPS over ;)
