Can Emerald pre-assign Business on QF?

I have just confimed my flights for an AONE4 I am doing next year and called QF to ask about pre-assignment of Biz seats on my domestic legs.
The agent told me that they do not pre-assign.

Aren't preferred seats part of the OW Emerald beneifts? Or does this not apply to QF?

Don't know about QF Emeralds, but for the rest of us what the agent said is true.

Hi Johnosan,

What Viajero posted is correct. All is not lost, however.

With QF domestic, you can register your seating preferences for each sector. i.e. Window/Aisle, Forward/Aft

Over 95% of QF domestic preallocation is done by computer software at approx 15:00 UTC every day. Status is taken into account and as an Emerald, you are more than likely to get something akin to your registed preference.

I suggest contacting QF again and ensuring your seating preferences are registered for each segment.

Thanks Viajero & Serfty.

Will ring QF again and get my window preference put against the segements.

Make sure your Emerald status is there as well. It's no good on the day; it must be there beforehand.

When you check in, do ask if the exit seats are available. These are not pre-assigned in advance and are only available at check in.... NOTE: The self service quickcheck machines will not allow you to select exit seats

Given that the OP is travelling on a AONE4 ticket, I am assuming he is booked in business class for the QF domestic sectors. Therefore exit row allocation is unlikely to be attractive since the exit rows are located in the economy sector of most domestic aircraft. I suppose we see the occasional 747 operating domestic flights, but its not very common to have business class seats in exit rows on domestic flights. Of course those domestic sectors of international flights do permit pre-allocation of seats.

You are correct Business class on 737-800 x 2 and A330-200. Although the other information about the exit seats is handy to know.
Last time I flew domestic I requested window in advance in Y and was allocated a seat in the only row on the plane with no windows :(

Will call to ensure my Emerald status is recorded also.
