AA Q1 06 schedule changes

Our RIC-LAX single flight number has disappeared but AA automatically rebooked us on two segments via DFW - thank goodness for ticketing that segment dated and being protected :D

Hi Alect I have some serious issues with AA .
i have tried for several weeks to book my segments , which were open but were paid for , now I have been informed that I cannot go from anc- dfw , aswell as dfw jfk direct. What if any is my course of action to be

The DFW-JFK flight are certainly still in the schedule (3 flights a day) so I don't have a clue why you upset about AA for that. The AA flights to ANC are codeshares with AS.

ANC-DFW service, on AA metal, runs from June 8 through August 31, 2006. If your itinerary includes dates outside that range then flights are not currently available for booking on AA. There may be flights available later for booking other dates, but I kind of doubt it - others may have better information from their experiences.

I have noticed that seasonal service in general is usually not available for booking until 11 months from the date at the end of the range for which the service is offered. For example since the above period runs until August 31, 2006 then booking for flights during any of this period was probably not possible until earlier this month. I book flights into EGE (Vail, CO) each year and they are not available for booking until late April or early May even though service starts as early as November. I hope this info was helpful.

I don't understand your DFW-JFK conundrum as there are 3 daily non-stop 757 flights between those cities. Just out of curiosity, what reason do they give you for not being able to go non-stop between these cities?

Hi I must apologise for the dfw- jfk sector, as that segment is okay , but the anc-dfw is an issue . I was informed that AA run the summer service into early part of sept. I am flying AA metal to anc . I will come back to the forum on Wednesday of next week , as by then I will have some more facts from BA in Cairo Thanks for the help Kind regards ELO

For some reason I thought there was service until as late as late September/early October. If that is the case then there may be other schedules coming available in the coming weeks. I just checked my laptop which has an old timetable on it from Sept 17. ANC-ORD service went until Oct 2 of this year, but there was no ANC-DFW service on Sept 17 or after for this year. You may be out of luck for next year unless they add more service. I would say if ANC-DFW service for next September does not show up by the end of November, then you will probably be out of luck. Also look for ANC-ORD service for September. If it shows up and ANC-DFW service does not, then I think your answer is pretty much assured to be no additional service. Good luck.

Two weeks ago I booked direct AA DFW<->ANC for mid June.

As aaupgrade posted, at the moment you may book for flights up until August 31st.

I would wait a couple of days until November and have another look, and keep looking day by day.

Actually checking every Monday morning is sufficient as AA's schedules are updated sometime between Sunday and Monday morning - this from my personal anal-retentive experience of booking high demand flights and upgrading as soon as they are available. There is another thread both here in the OW forum and also on the AA forum about changes for Q1 2006. Well actually this past Monday all schedules, for Q4 2005, Q1-3 2006 were all affected. This happens on a weekly basis to some extent, this past update just happened to include a lot of changes. I anticipate we will see more substantive changes more often due to AA's proactive stance with regard to micromanaging schedules from a fiscal perspective.

On a side note, if you are concerned about schedule changes, then check your reservations every Monday morning online for changes. I do this on a regular basis; perhaps not every Monday but I usually don't go more than 3 weeks without checking their status.

Hi Just got back from Cairo on Wednesday ; must say BA F was good .

I spoke to AA today , about the schedule changes anc-dfw , and their response was that they will not be flying anc-dfw after the 30th of august.
If say AA do not fly after the 30th of aug. Will I be stuck even thou I have paid in full?, bearing in mind I appreciate as you say it can change , however if say by the end of Nov AA are sticking to their guns , will I be entitled to an involuntary rerouting , even thou my ticket for the sector anc- dfw is still open . I apologise is the above is confusing as I have never been a good writer. Kind Regards ELO

If I understand the above correctly, yes, you are stuck, and will have to pay the reissue fee, and the new taxes, if any. That's the way it is with open (not dated) coupons, flexible but risky.
