Which FF program to choose for this RTW itinerary?

I am a basic level member of both BA and QF (no status or miles worth mentioning), and will fly RTW in business class on the following itinerary:

1) AMS-JFK C-class on KL (I am KL/FB plat)
2) EWR-LAX J-class on QF ticket (AA metal)
3) LAX-SYD J-class on QF
4) SYD-SIN J-class on QF
5) SIN-AMS C-class on KL

Which FF program will give me most 'bang' for my bucks, QF or BA, or should I even consider another oneworld FF membership, like AA?

Thanks,
FlyingBlue70

A difficult question to answer without knowing what other flying you do. It also depends how you define 'bang' - do you want status and the lounge access that goes with it, or miles. Overall, I'd guess that AA is the way to go. Sign up for AA's Plat Challenge and you'll get status which will give you lounge acess when flying with OW carriers (other than North American 'domestic'), and you will get a reasonable chunk of miles as well.

Thanks phillipas, I just asked the next obvious question in the AAdvantage forum. Reason why I'd like to be PLT is more to get the blue OW level than anything else. I do fly the occasional BA/EI domestic return in Europe, and the odd BA or QF longhaul, on top of 150,000+ miles a year on KL/CO/AF and LH. Lounge access for OW flights would be a welcome addition to my lounge access on SkyTeam and *A.

Besides, who said that 'just for the heck of it' isn't reason enough? :D
