LONE4, MR & codeshare
Hi!
I recently bought my LONE4-trip and found this forum afterwards. I am a member of AY's bonusprogram. My routing is as follows: ARN-MAD-LIM-SCL SCL-PUQ-SCL (purchased separately) SCL-GRU// GIG-SCL SCL-IPC-SCL SCL-AKL// CHC-SYD SYD-CNS CNS-NRT// KIX-HKG HKG-SIN SIN-BKK BKK-HEL-ARN This totals at around 60000kms, which is the limit for Silver. However, I think I am slightly below 60000kms as I without knowing of bonuspoints, booking classes and so bought the SCL-PUQ-SCL in Q which gives no points. Now, I thought about making a little change in the routing to get more points, inspired by the MR-forum. I am interested in doing the following instead: SCL-AKL// CHC-MEL* MEL-NRT// KIX-SYD+ SYD-CNS CNS-HKG HKG-SIN SIN-BKK which would give me 4 stops in AUS/NZ and 4 stops in Asia or: SCL-AKL// CHC-SYD SYD-HKG HKG-CNS CNS-NRT// KIX-SIN SIN-BKK which would give me 3 stops in AUS/NZ and 4 stops in Asia Depending on which one gives more miles, I guess taxes won't change that much. Also, my question is ofcourse if it is possible to make the changes, I plan to start my trip in December, so if I have understood correctly, I can make changes to the routing for free until I fly the first segment? * & +: CHC-MEL is operated by Jetstar, QF308.Also, the KIX-SYD flight is a QF-codeshare operated by Jalways, QF374. Does anyone know if that flight is available with the LONE4 and if it gives points? I guess I won't need to take the long flights, I'm happy if this trip ends up at more than 60000kms, I won't make it to 60000+120000km anyway to get Gold. Thanks for all your help. |
Hello mannen
Welcome to FT Suggestion - search for the OneWorld RTW intinerary validator in the thread. It saves the great aggravation of interpreting the basic rules. In your two alternatives, once you leave the SW Pacific region for Asia, you can not return. so SYD-HKG-CNS-HKG is not permitted. Also I think you will not find a direct OW KIX-SIN flight - you would need two flight coupons with transit in HKG. Since you have a few available coupons, consider AKL-ADL-PER-CNS as a side trip, though that routing is not the best part of QF's scheduling. AKL-MEL-PER-ADL-(BNE)-CNS would have much more friendly flight schedules. PER also has flights PER-NRT if the trans-Australia flight restrictions make scheduling difficult. AKL-BNE-CNS-BNE-(ADL or DRW)-PER-NRT would be possible I can understand your desire to fly BKK-HEL on AY but if BA or CX give 100% mileage routing (SIN or BKK or HKG) -LHR-HEL-ARN would provide more mileage. If I fly : ARN-MAD-LIM-SCL SCL-PUQ-SCL SCL-GRU// GIG-SCL SCL-IPC-SCL I get 9245Q-points based on mixed fare-classes and flightcode. However, if I change the MAD-LIM segment from IB to LA, I would get over the 10000Q-points-barrier. Also, my travelagent reports no L-seats on LA705 MAD-SCL 12/18/05, whereas I get L9 on the same flight when searching through ITN/UA. I'm located in Sweden, I figured would it be possible to call my travelagency in US instead (STA Travel) and see if they can access the seats and change my booking or call United (who has nothing to do with my booking) and ask them? LA on MAD-SCL would be my first choice as I would get 100% points, LA has PC power in Y class on their A340. |
