'R' bucket and Qantas
 

Lately I have have been down-graded on several of my flights i.e. (CHC-MEL) and (PER-ASP-DRW).

The new flights show R inventory, but no D inventory.

Example for next year: QANTAS AIRWAYS OPERATED BY JETSTAR AIRWAYS 308 CHC Christchurch 03:25 PM MEL Melbourne 05:10 PM QANTAS AIRWAYS 1013 MEL Melbourne 07:40 PM HBA Hobart 08:50 PM

The other example is for this year: PER ASP DRW shows this aircraft:

However, Qantas is offering seats for sale in business.

Do the business class seats exist on these flights?

Should I complain to RTW?

With QF, 'R' class is a Coach fare bucket.

And, Yes, you should complain, very firmly; Qantas LCC offshoot Jetstar are taking over Oz-CHC. They do NOT offer business class!

I would call Qantas and request to be re-routed. If they say they can't do this, tell the agent in a firm but nice manner: "That's Unacceptable".

Also, Qantas link are starting to use one class 717's PER-DRW so no J/D/I in these either.

For example on 29th October there are two direct flights:

•at 8:05am QF792 is a 2 class 73H and has "J9 D9 I0 U2 Y9 B9 H9 ...".

•at 11:45am QF1942 (via ASP) is a 1 class 717 and has "Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 R9 ..."

I have bus class reward booked at Xmas-New Year MEL-CHC-MEL. QF have rerouted me MEL-SYD-CHC-SYD-MEL on business without problems. I am QF Plat, so that may help.

Are your flights open dated or on fixed dates ?
