*ONE open jaw

I've looked at the star file and searched around but can't find a definitive answer to this question: does an open-jaw count as a segment on a *ONE?

I am thinking of including LHR-LED (open jaw) DME-LHR in my itinerary. Will LED-DME be counted as a segment?

TIA.

A surface segment does not count as one of the 20 segments, but it does count as a stopover (important only in the continent of origin).

Note that this treatment of open jaw (as not a segment or otherwise using up the fare) is a OWE fare feature; most other RTW products do count open jaw (typically as miles towards the fare mileage limit).
