New Version of Oneworld Electronic Timetable

I've just downloaded a new version of the timetable from this page . At first glance, it looks OK to me in that possibly the itineries may survive data updates (yet to be tested, of course).

Any opinions about other aspects?

Gardyloo Jun 21, 2005 6:20 pm

I got it a couple of weeks ago and am of two minds. First, I don't mind the functionality and speed of it at all, especially on downloads, although I wonder if that's because I still have the "old" timetable on my system.

However, I am very unhappy that the "all airports" option is gone from the O/D lists. It makes RTW planning, where every coupon counts, a lot harder. Maybe a quibble, but I sent off a note to the webmaster on it (through the help menu) anyway.

In my opinion, its rather difficult to use the new version. I preferred the old version. Seems like the Skyteam timetable is based on the new OW version as well.

newcx12345 Jun 22, 2005 3:22 am

The PDA version is better and it calculates the miles (really useful for MR planning!!)

Also the CX Oneworld Timetable is good as it tells you what class is offer (well based on schedule) on the flights and easy to use.

Zarniwoop Jun 22, 2005 4:16 am

Schedule for two months only!

Why is it, that there's data for next two months only?? Not nice if you're planning a trip for November.. you still need to check airliners own timetable.

Not really. I can search dates past 2 months, but you jus thave to be careful that things can change.

PhilH Jun 22, 2005 5:36 am

Can't you run the two timetables applications side-by-side (I seem to be able to)?

Ah.. it was a software bug that blocked dates beyond two months. But I got it work now.. thanks for info.

I do too. It was allowing me to manually update the old one but now seems to be stuck on May 21st. Is there any place to get the updated data for the old version?

I actually did a new install for the new version. At the moment I have 2 different version on my laptop. You might want to uninstall the program and reinstall the new version?

Alternatively you might want to try the following:

The CX timetable is a lot better as it provides more options on transits and unlike the old Oneworld timetable that was bias towards BA and QF and not offer any other connections, this timetable shows all possible permutation of connections. And it also tells you the MCT and the class config of the aircraft.

Darren Jun 22, 2005 12:18 pm

Great, Thanks, I will try it out.

Yes the extra info makes it better for me. Thanks, I didn't know about it & so hadn't tried it until just now. I'm glad I posted - another demonstration of the merit of FT ^

The CX timetable does not seem to give me non CX flights when there is a CX alternative.

E.g. PER-HKG 12th Jan.

And the response, nice and quick...
Dear Gardyloo,

Thank you for your feedback on oneworld's new downloadable timetable product. We have had several requests for this feature to be added to the new flight schedule program. The old version was created by a different vendor and had some different features. We are looking to include useful features such as the all airports view back into the new program for the next major release.

Thank you,

Not bad.

I just tried downloading the CX Oneworld Timetable. When I executed the downloaded file it upacked a whole bunch of stuff then proceeded to download NORTON Internet Security 2005. The Oneworld T/T was nowhere to be found on my computer.
Anyone else had this problem?

I already owned Norton prior to this.

I checked it out & couldn't find any non CX on that date either. Pushing the "Alternative Connections" button did give some QF flights via SYD & MEL.

I then checked the QF website & found that QF67 does not go on Thurs. 12 Jan '06. Tried Wed. 11 with the CX timetable & it gave me QF67.

Update. The OW electronic timetable now includes data for six months, a much needed improvement over the previous version. Current data: 29JUL-28JAN.

ACfly Aug 7, 2005 12:36 pm

Mac version?

Anyone know if there is a MAC version available?

Mateo4321 Aug 10, 2005 11:29 pm

still hoping for that all cities option to come back...

hauteboy Aug 11, 2005 4:23 pm

Did they lobotomize the new electronic schedule as well? The new one only shows flights from 8/11 - 9/24.

I think you have an old version. See post #17.

Yeah, the new version has timetables from July 19th to Jan 28th. It shows this when you fire it up.

Yes... it did show schedules through January when I downloaded it yesterday. However if you download the new schedules (8/11), it only has schedules through 9/24. :(

You are absolutely right. The current version is just as useless as it was on day one. :(

Maybe the recently released version to Jan 28th has some error/bugs or something and they have backed it out.

I have a copy of this version from last week (valid to 28 Jan) if anyone wants it. ;)

virtualtroy Aug 13, 2005 1:32 am

I can't get the AA version to install properly - Windows XP doesn't seem to like it. The Cathay version tries to update my iPod program. No issues with any other programs I've downloaded.

CApreppie Oct 7, 2005 9:29 pm

I'm slow to the party, but I am amazed they finally were able to get a PDA timetable out after Star Alliance had its own for years. Even SkyTeam beat oneworld.

Gardyloo Oct 7, 2005 9:43 pm

No improvements that I can see, still a pain.

BTW *A still uses the "old" product. I confess I like it better.

CApreppie Oct 8, 2005 3:46 pm

I am not fond of the software chosen for the Palm ow timetable. The software that AA/*A/UA/ST use is much quicker and efficient.

I'll admit I like the old format better too; I haven't figured out how to decode the new file format yet. :)

My efforts on the timetable front are to download to OW pdf, copy it to an Excel spreadsheet where I've got all the filters and sitances set up and hey presto, I can tell you the longest NA non Transcon (for xONEx purposes)... but it's only valid for one month.

What I realy need, and would be most appreciative of any help on, I some indication as to how I can get hold of the AA schedules for, ideally, the next 6 months. The key thing is they MUST be in a format that I can decode to Excel.

Cheers.

I have a utility that does the same, and lots more. Shows all flights from a city, all flights to a city, all flights less than X miles, all flights greater than X miles, all flights from a country, all flights from a country, all flights on a certain aircraft, etc. You can combine the queries.

eg.
dumpow.exe -from lhr -gte 5000 -airline ba

Yep, my spreadsheet does all those things. :p The great thing about Excel is that it's so easy to manipulate the data.

The 'but' though is that it's only valid for the current month - and is thus something of a pain when it comes to planning an xONEx a few months in advance. The non-NA parts are all very schedule, but the long NA non-transcons seem to change every month. Hence my plea for help.

PS - Kiwiflyer, e-mail on it's way later today.

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I also am looking for a timetable or tool that shows all departures from a given airport - listed by departure time.

(OAG comes close... it will show all destinations alphabetically or by flight duration. A few airports also publish their departure info, but not the airports I'm interested in.)

Thanks.

Kiwi Flyer Aug 6, 2006 3:48 pm

Which airports are you interested in?

Schiphol. I couldn't see departing flights yesterday - but I do now - so I'm good.

However, it still would be helpful to have a single source (like the old OW timetable) that could list all departing flights from any airport (or just the OW airports) by departure time.

Actually we do have one (sort of): flt_dat1.ftd

All we need is some clever FTer to decode it. @:-)

Cheers.

I realize this post is pretty old. Are you still able to copy it to an Excel spreadsheet? How do you do this? The PDF is almost 7500 pages long, so that's a lot of work if any significant manual cleanup or reformatting is required.
