OW interline E-ticket network complete

Oneworld has become the first airline alliance to offer interline e-ticketing across its network after Aer Lingus and LAN became the last set of partners to implement the technology.

OW E-Ticketing with Exceptions

Just as a caveat, there are certain cities that DO NOT have the ability to handle an E-Ticket; i.e., CMB (Colombo, Sri Lanka). The RTW desk told me there are several. I don't remember the others, but I just had RTW issued, and even with < 16 segments, if CMB was included, had to be paper ticket.

As well as ATO/CTOs there are also agents with restricted capabilities to issue e-tickets (Emeco in CAI is one that comes to mind), so despite the press releases we are still a long way from having e-ticketing "across the network".

Which means the dreaded 16-segment e-ticket limit that AA wants is delayed again. :)

Not all airlines are having the same capabilities with regards to e-tickets. I booked a 9 segment DONE3 with the first sector by CX. My travel agent informed me that if it was booked on CX-stock she could only issue a paper ticket as CX could only e-ticket upto 8 segments. If booked on BA-stock e-ticketing was no problem.
