DONE4 ex IST Update

Hey guys - just wanted to give you all an update. A cpl of us have been been working on our done4 ex ist and have completed within the past couple of days. I just got all the itinerary and pricing done and rcv'd an email from BA ex IST this morning.
I called BA RTW desk NA to have then send my confirmation and we began to discuss purchasing the intinerary. I was told that I can purchase this through BA RTW NA and they will ship the tickets to my US mailing address.
Weird, I thought, and I told the agent that I thought I could ONLY pick up these tickets in IST. The agent said no, once they receive the intin and price it, you can buy it from ANY BA RTW office and they can ship it to your billing address on your credit card. I have the agents name and will be dealing with him/her on this.
Will keep you guys posted on how this goes.

just FYI....

That's great if it works -- BA NA however would not even quote me the ex-IST price. Make sure it comes in at 5 grand not 7 and a half!

Just a thought, but as OW has now completed interline e-ticketing across its network, is there now any continued need for a paper ticket for RTWs?

Yes - more than 12 or 16 sectors (can't remember which) - that's why I have a paper ex-IST ticket.

i wish e-ticket.. I have paper ticket.
BTW - i called BA RTW NA again to actually confirm my flights, for some reason they left half of my itinerary open, and I was charged taxes on stopovers, when it should just have been transits.
I was not able to reach the agent (mentioned above) and spoke to another one who confirmed what everyone in FLYTALK confirmed, that *one* must be purchased in country of origin. I told her that I knew the same thing, but was told otherwise last night. I asked to speak to a MGR to clarify the conflicting information, but was unble to speak to one, as I'm sure we all know it take at LEAST 15 minutes for an agent to pickup the phone.

I can do either or, but would prefer it to be mailed. But I was re-reading the *one* rules and saw the below....
"Sales restrictions
When travel originates in a country from which a specified local currency fare is published and the ticket is sold in another country, the fare will be that published from the country of origin converted into the currency of sale at the bankers selling
rate (BSR). The resultant fare must not be lower than that from the country of sale.
Exception: when there is no similar fare ex country of sale for comparison, convert the origin fare into currency of payment by BSR"

Wouldn't the above passage "INFER" that you CAN buy *ONE* in one country and have it issued/paid/ticketed in another. It states that the fare is based on
1) Class
2) # of continents visited
3) Country of Origin

Not Country where ticket was purchased.

What do you guys think??
