Nrt-hkg-???
 

I have Plat status on AA for one year (thanks to a Plat challenge). I was hoping to be travelling through HKG at some point this year to finally visit the Pier/Wing lounges ^ but it doesn't look like it, at least not on OW.

I will be in NRT for 5 months and have 25K points on AA. I would like to use those points for a weekend outing and had thought of PEK on CX via HKG. Unfortunately there is a direct JAL flight so AA wants me to take that instead.

Is there a destination within the 25K range for which one would have to travel through HKG? (Anything except SIN or BKK).

I don't know much about OW and its routes, etc - so your comments are most appreciated. :)

On AA, there is a difference between North Asia (Asia 1) and South Asia (Asia 2). If you go to South Asia by choice, a coach ticket is going to be 40,000 miles.

To answer your question, the only places that CX flies in Asia 1 are Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo, Sapporo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka...all of which will be served by JAL. So the bottom line is that you either need to pick up 15k more miles, which shouldnt be impossible, or just fly somewhere within the region on JAL.

mmmhhh no luck - no seats NRT-PEK in the entire month of June up until July 15, nor in the entire month of September until October 10.

Didn't expect it to be this hard for 1 pax in coach up to 10 months out...
