Glob planner/validator ?

Looks like I must switch from a LONE4 to a MGlob34 ticket for my itinerary. Doe any one know a site / tool to validate a GLOB ticket, include miles spend ?

I'd like to validate the following flights and want to know if it requires a GLOB29 or GLOB34 ticket.

ams/lhr-lim,lpb-scl-pmc,ush-scl-ipc,ipc-ppt,ppt-syd,syd-bkk,hkg-pek,pek-ams/lhr

Or can I just cal a RTW desk in the UK / USA

Regards,

Arjen

You can calculate the miles for example on this site: http://gc.kls2.com/

I didn't check valid flights, but you have to remember that the open segments are calculated in the miels for your total itinerary. This means that your itinerary isn't ams/lhr-lim,lpb-scl-pmc,ush-scl-ipc,ipc-ppt,ppt-syd,syd-bkk,hkg-pek,pek-ams/lhr but rather ams/lhr-lim-lpb-scl-pmc-ush-scl-ipc-ppt-syd-bkk-hkg-pek-ams/lhr (in term of miles).

No OW flight between LHR-LIM, so it would have to be LHR-MAD-LIM. I din't check LIM-LPB-SCL availabilty on OW (or LA).

--> I did use your url, and that is where I get confused. For instance the flight ush-scl-ipc takes 3822mi, while ush-ipc is 2808 (while a transit at SCL is still required). So I'm wondering how to tool should be used.

Use the point-to-point mileage XXX-YYY-ZZZ only when you change flight numbers or days in YYY, otherwise it's XXX-ZZZ.

While the great circle mapper is an incredible tool, it doesn't always return the exact mileage used by the airlines in computing distances. Remember that the surface miles between open-jaw points counts too. Best to put an itinerary together then phone it in to the airline to see if they count the miles the same as you do, and don't try to cut it too closely.

Just called the BA desk in NL. It is pretty easy to get it worked out by the RTW specialist. So that is what I'm going to do tomorrow :)
