Update: This am, an AA agent at T4 in LAX (elite line) who happened, by pure chance, to learn of the saga, said "WHAT!?, they lifted the wrong coupon and you had to PAY??" whereupon proceeded, without me asking anything, to process an on the spot refund! Now, wasn´t that just GREAT stuff? and I am not just talking about getting the money back, of course.

Anyhow, not crying, just a heads up, for those unlucky enough to hold paper OWEs: triple check them at check-in and don't leave that counter until you

I saw the title of this and just had to chuckle. I can remember a time (not so long ago) when we all were chanting "I hate those da$#@n e-tickets", as anyone holding an e-ticket who missed a flight and had to be re-accomodated on another carrier was pretty much in deep kimshi.

Aint technolgy progress amazin'

In my experience many of the agents working the F or EXP counters at LAX are like this. Despite LAX being chaotic much of the time. It helps if you happen to be there off-peak (it is incredibly busy 6-9 am and again at midnight; mid-afternoon is completely dead so a good time for complex ticketing transactions). LAX has some of the most helpful and competent staff.
